What is cancer?
Our body is made up of small cells, the way a building is constructed with small bricks. Further, these cells divide from the middle at regular intervals and make two cells, two make four, four make 16 and so on. Through this procedure, new cells can replace the cells that have completed their life and are dead, but when our cells, which divide in a controlled manner in normal conditions, start growing uncontrollably, that is, they simply divide. They keep on dividing whether it is needed or not, then it gives rise to a tumour which can also take the form of cancer. Moreover, if this cancerous cell starts spreading to other parts of the body then it gives rise to metastasis which is considered a deadly situation. Some most common kinds of cancers include lung cancer, breast cancer, colon cancer and prostate cancer.
Tips to prevent cancer
Now let’s discuss some tips which can play a big role in preventing cancer.
1. Adopt intermittent fasting
The first tip is to consider adopting intermittent fasting. Our body keeps renewing its cells regularly. Old cells keep dying and new cells are born. However, sometimes damaged cells start accumulating in the body, which may lead to cancer in the future. The risk can increase and this is where the role of fasting comes to the fore. When you fast, the body activates a process which we call auto phase i.e. the body removes the damaged cells which are accumulating in the body itself. This process has a vital role in cancer prevention; hence, you must do intermittent fasting which you do not eat for 12 to 16 hours. You do fasting and the rest of the time you take light meals. If you do fasting in this way for four to five days every month, then it is a good starting point from which you can gradually increase it depending on the condition of your body. You can, but don’t overdo it because extreme fasting often causes harm instead of benefits, so you can try it two to four times or five times a month.
2. Drink turmeric
The second tip is to drink turmeric water. It is believed that turmeric has powerful properties to prevent body cells that further reduces the risk of cancer. To take turmeric water, add half spoon of turmeric along with a pinch of black pepper in a glass of warm water.
